Sunday Reflection Truths

Ok so, today we had our 8th weekly worship service at Connection Church.  It is hard to believe that it is our 12th over all when you think about Christmas Eve and previews.  Each week is different, surprising, and exciting.  So, here are the highlights:

We are in the second week of our series Life: Renewed.  Today we looked at having our life repaired based on John 21:15-19.  If you want to hear it, click here.

The band was awesome.  The music was amazing.  They did Salvation Chorus, Happy Day, I Stand Amazed, and Beautiful Disaster.  Beautiful Disaster was a free download from itunes that I got about two years ago, and now I love it!

We had a rough morning.  Our trailer was blocked, causing about 20 extra minutes to get it free.  We were missing some of our normal set-up team and one of our “subs” was out with a sick child.  However, we still were set-up and running well on time.  Take down was also really quick.  Have I ever mentioned how much I love my peeps?

Anyway, that’s all.  I did a wedding in Clayton this weekend.  You’ll hear about that this week.  Hope your Sunday went well and that your week starts off right!

Easter Sunday Night Reflections

Ok, so Connection Church had it’s first ever Easter Service today!  It was awesome.  I mean, Easter is such an amazing day.  I said at the beginning of the message that nothing we do means anything if not for Easter.  Christ rising from the dead and leaving us an empty tomb separates us from every other religion, and it gives us the eternal life that we so desperately crave.  Anyway, it was an awesome morning and here are the highlights:

We had our biggest non-Christmas Eve crowd.  We had 80 in worship, 20 kids in Connect 4, and 9 adults teaching in Connect 4!  It was nice to have our worship room close to full!

The music was amazing.  Danny and the guys opened with Agnus Dei to get us the Good Friday feel and then went straight into Beautiful Day by U2 (I have been wanting to use that song in worship for years!).  The rest of the music was God is Alive, Marvelous Light, and Hosanna (Julie is the bomb!).

I am blown away every Sunday by people who give up sleep and help set-up at 8 am.  I am then blown away by people who delay lunch to help break-down.  If I haven’t said it before, I love my people at Connection.

This had nothing to do with the church, but I got to see mom and pop, both my brothers (love those guys), sisters-in-law, and 4 of my neices and nephews today!  That’s a good day!

Hope your Easter was incredible.  Any highlights?
