Friday Errand Truths

Ok, so I just returned from running a few errands in Suwanee about the new church.  I had a meeting with a woman about using a community center.  I like the center, and I think I can handle the price.  Plus, there are a few perks about the facility that I will go into detail on if we decide to use it.  Please be praying that God would give me the clearest direction on this.  I know how important your meeting space is, especially your first meeting space.  After that, I went to the Post Office and obtained a P.O. Box for the church.  Connection Church now has an address!  We don’t have a facility or dates set in stone yet, but we have an address.

I mention all of that to say the truth is that it is exciting to have progress.  These may seem like baby steps, but I can take a post-it of my board, and that makes me happy.   Ok, I am going to go do yard work now.  It looks like it will rain, so I am going to try and get the grass cut so the rain will absorb better.  Hope you are having a good Friday!

Quick Hit Truths

Ok, so once again I have gone too many days without posting.  Sorry.  However, I drank a Monster energy drink earlier today so I am trying to be productive at 12:30, so I thought I would post.  The truth is things are just crazy now.  It hit me Tuesday that I basically have two and half weeks left at FUMC.  See, move day is June 26th which was 4 and half weeks from Monday.  I will be out of town June 9-12th and Annual Conference is June 17-20th.  So, at this point, I have next week, Monday the 16th, and three days the next week.  I will be at church this Sunday, next Sunday, miss the next week (I get to baptize Alex and Erin ’s little girl Faith), and then it is my last Sunday.  On top of that, I have a lot of things for the new church I am trying to do.  So, today I just want to do a quick update on a few things and then be done.

I have started packing my office up at church.  It is a little sad (ok a lot sad) to take three years worth of work and memories and try to condense to a few boxes.  Plus, I don’t really have anywhere at home to put all my books, but that is another concern.  The truth is that I have loved my experience.  Sure, there have been rough days.  To say that it was perfect would be a lie.  However, I have never regretted decided to come to Lawrenceville.  I am thankful to have served with this staff and done ministry with these people.  I will miss it (well, if some of you want to come to the new church, I won’t miss it as much ;).

I have a meeting tomorrow (well, it is after midnight so I guess today) with a woman about a potential meeting space.  She is open to a church meeting there, it just depends on how much they will charge.  If you are reading this before 10, pray that God will work on her heart.  If it goes well, then I can give the update on our location soon.  The truth is knowing where we will worship will make me feel a lot better!

That’s it.  I will have more this weekend.  By the way, Andrew and Kristen will be flying back Sunday night.  Keep them in your prayers.  God bless.
